This painting was birthed through the vision of representing the sacred matriarchs. In the Andean Cosmovision Tuta Mama is the mother of the night. She who takes care of us and keeps us warm and safe until Taita Inti returns. In this painting Tuta Mamas face is represented by the moon and her shawl is the night sky we see. In her shawl is the start nation and the black pieces are silhouettes of our ancestors watching over us. The “sky” is outer space a representation of her dancing us through the night in the cosmos. The Milky Way is seen in the sky. She delights in the company of a galactic butterfly, representing change. All we have now is the present, the forever evolving present. The past and future only exist our minds. Her skirt is a tipi which is also a representation of the womb that holds us in ceremony.

Painting was done live at an event called Nuestro Tiempo- El grito de la independencia hosted at Adelitas Revenge in Long Beach, Ca on September 7th, 2025
